Sandlot Baseball Academy - Castle Rock InstructorsAllison Porter- Softball InstructorAllison started pitching when she was 13, and found quick success being a 4 year varsity letterman, first-team All State as a sophomore with an undefeated season, a high school state championship with Ponderosa High School, an ASA State Championship with the Colorado Stampede, and being recruited to play for the best team to ever come out of Colorado at the time - the Colorado Comets. As her dreams of playing collegiate level softball were becoming real, she unfortunately suffered a serious brain injury her junior year of high school - a massive brain stem aneurism. As she was left paralyzed in her right side, her dreams and priorities became much different. She did return to play her senior year, but in a different capacity than she was accustomed to, and found out quite quickly that her competitive nature wasn't going to accept what was the best she had to offer. She was not ready to walk away from the game that she devoted so much hard work to and still had a burning passion for, so from then on she started teaching. She has been teaching pitching for 18 years, including a clinic at Furman University in South Carolina, and several clinics in the area, and is currently the assistant coach for Ponderosa High School. It has now become her pleasure in every lesson to see the passion in her girls and to find a way to ignite it! Her goal is to see that her students are well equipped with the tools that they need to become successful and play at the collegiate level if the desire is there. April Pelham- Softball InstructorApril was Second Team All conference at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado as a Freshman. April was First Team All Conference at Bear Creek High School in Lakewood, Co. her Junior & Senior Year. As a pitcher she had an average ERA of 2.00. April took home over 85 First Place Trophies and also achieved multiple MVP awards including a Dr. Pepper MVP Award in 1994. April pitched and won over 200 Competitive ball games and also took 1st place in numerous Class A and B tournaments including District and State. April maintained a 400-450 batting average throughout her competitive softball career. Before moving back to Colorado she coached the Varsity team at Nature Coast High School in Hernando County Florida and started Florida Fastpitch Academy LLC. offering private lessons and clinics, she was also the head Softball instructor for the Hernando County parks and recreation Department.
